National Anthems
#1

A while ago I made an attempt at writing the lyrics for the national anthem of Sedunn: Sufe skaimm, Sedunn (Our Land, Sedunn). It turned out as below. Sadly I know nothing about composing music, so there will probably never be anything to listen to, at least not anything composed with the text in mind.

How about you? Have you written lyrics or chosen a tune, or maybe even composed your own anthem? Tounge

Musically, that is a great anthem.

I am considering this tune. At least the first part.

This is the tune of the Karnetvorian national anthem, "Karnetvor, Bože Hrani" (Карнетвор, Боже Храни; Karnetvor, may God protect you). It was used from 1938 to 1989, and from 2013 to the present. The lyrics have changed over the years, because the original song had references to the Karnetvorian monarchy.

Meant to post on this a while ago, but, I had a tough time picking one.
So, now, the National Anthem of the Federation of the Resentine Kingdom!
(Note: for Resentine, it was never given an official name, however, it has picked up the name of "Sons of Liberty")

@RG: I am curious about the Karnetvorian language. It is based on Russian, right? Is there a particular reason, like do you speak it? Anyway, classic anthem. Suits Karnetvor Smile

@Rhino: Wow, dramatic! Did you invent the language?

@Resentine: Cool, that's a quite unique tune for an anthem (at least compared to RL ones)

It's mostly based on Mandalorian, though there were quite a few holes to fill up and grammatical rules to set.

We have a national music though, there's an anthem, but I'm too busy to write one.

One of the national musics is the Hungarian Dance by Brahms.

Karnetvorian is mainly Russian, but with some Ukrainian and Serbian words, and some invented words. The alphabet is the same as Russian (without the letters ы and ъ) and its Latin form uses the same letters as English (except Q, W, J, X, and C) plus Š, Ž, Č and Ć.

The reason I chose it was because I know how to read and write Cyrillic, and I wanted to give the country an Eastern European-ish feel. I don't know Russian, so I have to use Google Translate (I want to learn it though).
