[IC] Appeal to the Chamber
#21

By 9 votes to 1, the Assembly has voted to condemn Nicholas and Great Britain. This motion will take effect immediately.

The house will now discuss the extent to which this action will be sufficient and whether to proceed with further actions.

Following the recent order to commit genocide on the Romordian people, the government of The United States of Izaakia calls for a WF led military intervention to prevent genocide and remove the government of N&GB. If we look the other way on this matter, the most severe violation of human rights that we have seen in recent years then we lose our credibility as an organisation and may as well dissolve the WF.

The Republic of Snolland would agree to such measures. It is urgent to put our foot down now.

Techganet agrees to a World Forum-led military intervention, but only if a mobilization can be confirmed by the end of this week, at latest.
If this is not the case, then we shall stage our own ground operation at our own terms to overthrow the Nicholasian government and bring peace to the country.

We can no longer tolerate and sit by as Nicholas the Tyrant continues to massacre his own people. We must start acting now.

The Technocratic Republic of Eflad agrees to the World Forum led millitary intervention on the basis of protecting human rights. It is now crucial to deploy forces as fast as possible to stabilise the region and ensure the security of the Romordian people!

In the name of all the people of the Socialists United Provinces of Rhayna, Alla-gy and Néa-gy, we are horrorized that N&GB call themselves communists, a definition that should only be applicated to nations that are totally in favor for the wellbeing of the mayority of their citizens without massive genocide, included immigrants.

That's why we, the Union of Rhayna, Alla-gy and Néa-gy, agree to any intervention in N&GB for stopping this grotesque violation of civil rights.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE
GOVERNMENT
TECHNOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF EFLAD

"In place of the old bourgeois society, with its classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all." (Chapter II) This is what Marx writes in the Manifesto of the Communist Party. It is therefore not acceptable for a country which is creating a society with classes and is depriving people of their freedom to call themselves communist. The Technocratic Republic of Efald is disgusted what Nicholas and Great Britain are doing or were going to do to the Romordian people and under the name of communism. We condemn, in every way possible, the nation of Nicholas and Great Britain for their flagrant violation of basic human rights but also for the betrayal of communist principles.
The Romordians are human beings and must be free. If Marx were to see what has been done and is being done under the name of communism he would be turning in his grave.

The Technocratic Republic of Eflad will therefore rise its millitary readiness and is in favor of a World Forum Coalition based peacekeeping mission.  May the Romordian and all the people of the World be free.

Esteemed delegates,

The Esfalsan position on this issue is one of grave concern. In the past days, weeks, and months, we have seen disruptions to shipping in the Transcrabian Sea on our shores. We have watched flights into Nicholas and Great British airspace from our radar screens. We have seen hypersonic missiles land near our territorial waters. It is clear that the situation in Nicholas and Great Britain is a significant threat not only to regional stability but also to human rights. It is, furthermore, apparent that the current situation is untenable.

Crises such as these call for action — careful, studied, action. Less than 250km from N&GB at its closest point, Esfalsa is taking precautionary measures in order to ensure its national security. But to truly address this situation with finality, and justice for those in Romordia, requires more than unilateral shows of force, empty threats, and hollow ultimatums. It requires action befitting of the World Forum, action characterized by a shared determination across member states. To this end, Esfalsa urges fellow member states to act upon the consensus quickly becoming apparent in this debate, and to take action to address the situation in N&GB. Specifically, Esfalsa urges that measures previously suggested by the delegation of Izaakia be revisited, including: economic sanctions on the regime, an international embargo on trade with N&GB, and an international military blockade. Given the current situation, it is clear that a direct invasion may only aggravate a clearly unhinged, despotic ruler. Instead, Esfalsa urges this Forum to enact specific demands to be met, such as allowing entry to World Forum human rights observers and international supervision with respect to the treatment of the Romordian people, with a specific deadline. A direct invasion of the territory of a sovereign state must remain a last resort. And while it is clear that we may be rapidly approaching that point, it remains as important as ever to draw a clear line in the sand and leave no ambiguities about the determination of the international community to act.

Thank you for your attention.

Madam Speaker and esteemed delegates.

The people of Livana lauded the decisiveness of this assembly on diplomatically condemning Nicolas and Great Britain. However, Livana agrees with the speaker of Esfalsa, Mr. Sontheimer, that a direct military intervention against Nicolas and Great Britain, that any violation to their sovereignty and territorial integrity shall only serve to entangle the issue at hand. Not to mention the cost of such mobilization of states would cause toward the stability of the world economy. Livana calls that a direct, but more lenient form of approach to be considered, and we all must presume that military intervention must be a final dead-end solution to this problem.

Livana calls that the World Forum needs to remember that Article I Section-A of the Charter obliged this body to maintain peace and stability. We can reflect with common sense that such a measure of military intervention does maintain neither peace nor stability. We call for actions to be enacted to pressure the government of Nicolas and Great Britain to allow Mr. Sontheimer's proposal to send World Forum human rights observers, and if possible, pressure them to voluntarily submit this issue to the International Court. We'd prefer actions such as military blockade and economic sanctions to be enacted accordingly. Only if these measures failed, then we consider a direct use of force toward Nicolas and Great Britain.

Thank you.
