[OOC - Discussion] CPSC's Organisation and Structure |
I don’t know if being that far from the equator is actually a problem. It’s no further than Cape Canaveral and the UKs first spaceport is in the far north of Scotland.

The closer to the equator, the less fuel is needed, so if possible, I believe the CPSC would have chosen such a location. But you're right, Cape Canaveral isn't farther away than Montacia, so it's not critical having the spaceport at the equator.
There are other benefits having a spaceport closer to the poles.
The CPSC would realistically choose a spaceport closer to the equator but it would be unlikely they'd choose a place that's been recently unstable in the past few years (if I understand the Ryccia issue correctly) due to opposition from member states and concerns over the safety of staff. Cape Canaveral, for example, is far from the equator yet its used a lot, so distance from the equator isn't that big of an issue.
There may could have been an additional space port around north-eastern Besern. A large space for a space port could have been reserved probably in southeastern Rungenbouen or eastern Haoene-Zersbach inland to serve as a second space port, which is near the equator. When was the period of instability within Ryccia?
Time to bump up this thread. I made a suggestion for the manned missions. Let me know what you think about it. I choose the naming to be fairly straightforward and perhaps not as stellar as the Mercury Program nor did I have any idea of an overarching mythology to name these.
