(Retrospect RP) FiHami-Peocracy meeting in Govt Island.
#21

The Peony was a bit surprised that livestock such as cattle does not exist in FiHami, at least in the Winston islands steak is more common. But she didn't press further on this.

"Valet." She spoke, with a low yet firm tone. One of the butlers came unto the table.

"Please prepare some beef noodle hotpot, spicy date broth. With some sour bread would be nice too." Said The Peony

"Right away, my Nuwang." bowed the valet as he moved out to give the order. The Peony then took the book and shuffled at the last page, where the hollow page lies a notebook that she would use. Notebook on the table, she took a pen and flipped it with the needle facing into the paper.

"So with the new government and the populace assimilating with the newly found sense of independence in FiHami, Huawan wishes to invest more on your lands. What I propose, to increase the welfare and the job quality of your people is to have more jobs available. With such a low population there is not much to explore, however, there are some lucrative alternatives. The exotic and fresh fish of FiHami could definitely be imported as fresh or as frozen meals, and with your permission, my High Commodore along with my High Diplomat would see the establishment and more support for modern fishing methods and fish farming that The Peocracy has perfected, such that are much more eco-friendly and sustainable." Said The Peony,

"I would also introduce some artists to grow the creative industry in FiHami, the market is wide, lucrative and easier for entry instead of other intensive jobs. Moviemaking, fashion design, arts and crafts, music and so on. This would also help FiHami kickstart a solid tourism industry."

The Peony continues to jot her proposals on her notebook.

"There is also a matter of transportation, you have inherited a solid seaport and an airport from your colonizers. That should be enough for now, moreover,I'd also propose building a solid busway or tramway in the cities to cope with the increase of industry and economical buzz that the cities may have. This would also allow easier access and transport to link outside towns, villages and tribes. I'm afraid that completely new rolling stock is rather too expensive, but we do have some used trams that could cope with services. Peonic trains and trams last for a long time, and with the usage of used rolling stock, we could definitely lower the prices of tickets and thus increase ridership. I'm also thinking of helping you build a small narrow gauge railway that connects freight and passenger service in the island. Needless to say, I wish to send some expeditions to FiHami and gauge the necessary improvements needed for your people. In hopes that on a long term basis, FiHami would have a solid and prosperous economy that rivals other rainbow isle countries." Said The Peony.

The Peony then looked at Finix, "Of course it is unlikely that the services are free, but compared to other states we have cheap foreign economical development programs and have run many client states. Despite the price, you will have a solid infrastructure that would last years of your reign later." Said The Peony, "This would, of course, leave your country in some more debt than before, however, we would not give you a large hassle and interest on it, if the Finixian industry goes well, you'd pay it back in no time. I will personally see to it that the best, of the best, would help your nation grow."

The Peony continues to explain, "As for the recent events surrounding the Cordillera region, I'm afraid that there is not much FiHami could help in regional stability military-wise, but your participation in the World Forum is needed and applauded. The Peonic Navy would do its best to solidify and protect sea trading routes across the region and ensure no harm done to any logistics that enter as well as Finixian naval vessels, civilian or military. You have my pledge that under The Peocracy would provide the region sufficient foreign aid to those in need, and would not hesitate to show its force if needed be. With it, I, therefore, suggest a defensive pact between The Peocracy and FiHami which could be discussed further by the visiting expedition later on."

The Peony then finished writing and paused. Looking closely she indeed took a lot of force and friction to note these all down. "Is there anything you'd like to add? your excellency? Was it a bit too fast?"

Finix blinked, processing everything that the Peony explained.

"That is very generous of you, and I am sure you would love the cultural scene in FiHami, our artists, bladesmiths, dancers... and I personally will very much appreciate more sustainable and efficient fishery practices, many fish that swim around the island are very valuable and delicious.  I would however, be concerned about the... the trains?"  Finix thought for a second, hoping she used the right word, before continuing.  "I worry about the impact of the trains on the island and our fire falcons.  There is a reason why Finixi architecture uses the colors we use, with the patterns and everything.  We make the civilizations brightly colorful so the birds think that the area is already on fire, so the birds don't drop their torches and burn villages.  I fear that the upkeep for the tracks would not be worth the effort in the long run.  As far as a defensive pact goes, I would very much appreciate discussing such a pact."

"Excellent, I will have some observers come at an appropriate time after this meeting, and we should have a proper list of programs to improve the country." Said The Peony, "I heard about the fire falcons, and I am certainly interested in them and how they play in to Finixian society, because I read somewhere that they do cause much fire hazards, in humidity, you would also expect a lot of smoke too."

The Peony sipped her chocolate further, and noticed that it's slowly emptying. She decided to get something a bit lighter since she'll be eating the noodles later. "Of course, the narrow gauge transport could be planned later on once we figure out the details, but trams and busses inside the cities and towns are necessary to ease the citizens to move, transportation is the key for all of this to work, and grow your towns even further. Don't worry, nature and sustainability is always the Peocracy's top priority."

The Peony then smiled, clapped once, and asked Finix.

"Now for the primary plan, what say you if Huawan and FiHami sponsor a regionwide music concert?" She asked, with deep interest, "I am a huge musical fan and I do believe that something like a concert could definitely help your country go back to its feet, and begin what I hope to be a prosperous tourism industry. We could definitely try to refurbish one of your stadiums to fit concerts, and I could definitely try to get high ticket artists to play."

The Peony then saw Finix being a bit... uncomfortable or at least dazed on this. "But that's just a thought, an idea, if you wish, your excellency." The Peony said, "do you like music Finix?"

"Regarding the trams and busses, a solution that worked for many generations in FiHami is painting everything with bright colors, as you may possibly be able to tell from Finixi architecture and designs, and even our clothes." Finix lifted up the end of her bright orange and red shawl from her right arm briefly, letting it rest once again against her arm. "But of course, foreigners may consider our designs an eyesore."

"As far as music goes, I believe some of the old Antarchi stadiums are being demolished and removed outside of Ha'Hani, I can see some of these being repurposed for less... bloody... purposes. I personally do not listen to much music besides what is played in festivals that I happen to attend." Finix sighed, making fingerquotes in the air, very exaggeratedly. "bEcAuSe pUbLiCiTy, as my 'successor' enjoys telling me every time there is some sort of party she wishes to drag me to."
