General Assembly 2019
#1

Members, Observers, and those of attendance. Welcome to the General Assembly of The World Forum called forth by the Deputy Speaker, The Peocracy of Huawan.

It has been months since the first activity seen on the World Forum, and while laws have passed that benefit our region and mended conflicts with one another, there is much that we need to perform. It has become clear to this council that tensions have arisen and continues to fan, which risks a wide variety of conseauences that may endanger our way of life.

Noting the principles made clear in the charter, and the growing need to sit doen and discuss things rationally. The Peocracy of Huawan uses its position as deputy speaker to open the Assembly of The World Forum. Insyaallah, we pray that the outcome of this forum could lead to collective action that prevent further escalation of conflicts, and the best solutions are agreed by all leading members of The South Pacific.

With it, we hereby open the Assembly, and invite speakers and heads of states to note the issues that are currently at large in the region.

If I may briefly introduce myself, I am the so-called "head of state" of FiHami, and I would like to mention, just before I speak, that I only speak because the enemies and oppressors of my nation and my people has begun to entangle themselves in the Reizen mess, and based on that I find FiHami's wish to remain neutral in world conflicts in jeapordy.

War is an ugly thing. It separates people, leaves scars on every inch of their bodies and hearts. People are killed, children are left to grow up on their own. Families are torn apart. There is a price to pay for walking in fire.

If the rest of the forum takes anything from my words today, let it be that we should strive to establish peace in the world by any means necessary. Thank you for listening.

The Union of Hystaiga condemns the unjustified aggression of Valkyria and supports the Sedunnic representative's call for an independent investigation of the 14 October incident. We would also like to extend that investigation to the 13 June incident in Stockholm, given that our neighbour unjustifiably blames my government for the tragic attack. Furthermore, my government demands an apology from the Valkyrian chancellor for the false accusations against us.

The Valkyrian Republic has already conducted its own investigation into the 13 June and the 14 October attacks and have determined that Hystaiga is responsible for these attacks. I would like to take this time to remind this Forum that the national sovereignty and self-determination of the Valkyrian Republic belongs to the people of our nation. In response to these attacks, which constitute an act of war, the Valkyrian Republic will do what is necessary to defend itself. In a few days, the Parliament will vote on whether to declare war on Hystaiga for the atrocities that they have committed against us.

"The Ryccian Federation urges the Valkyrian Republic for calm and civility. Do you both truly wish to follow the path we have gone through? All the blood and suffering that shall follow...Ryccia is a nation in this chamber that has already witnessed it. We call forth the Valkyrian Republic and the Union of Hystagia to commence talks to resolve this matter, posthaste. Every diplomatic and legal route must explored before a start in hostilities. Carnage must be avoided, for war is not a decision taken lightly. We of all people know that"

The Frost Empire recognizes and affirms the Valkyrian people's right to sovereignty and self determination. However, as a country that is currently struggling through its own war, the Frost Empire strongly insists that the Valkyrian Republic exercise all options including international mediation before committing hundreds of thousands of Valkyrians to their deaths.

Has no one been listening? We were attacked! The Valkyrian Republic has been attacked in what can only be described as an act of war. And we know who the perpetrators are, because they are here among us. The Hystaigan government committed an atrocity against our people and the Valkyrian Republic reserves the right to defend itself against all enemies of the state. When an act of war is committed against you, diplomatic options are off the table. The Valkyrian Republic does not negotiate with terrorists and we respond accordingly to all threats against us. I have come here to inform you that the Valkyrian government will seek a referendum in May 2020 on the question of our membership in the World Forum. The preceding government thought that it was a great idea to be a part of this organisation, but that is not the position the current government in Valkyria.

It is obvious to see the hatred of the Valkyrian representative because that is what they have always felt about the Hystaigan people. Their accusations against us are grounded in their historical hatred and racism against us—against my people. Perhaps, a history lesson is in order, because more than half a century ago, your people committed atrocities against us that can only be described as ethnic cleansing. It is for this reason that my government implores the World Forum to proceed with the investigation with or without the support of Valkyria and expel them from the World Forum. The Hystaigan people were the first to know that Valkyria was not a nation of peace, freedom, and democracy and, in these last few days, they have shown their true colours.

Let me propose a different perspective. The goal here should be to find a solution where this cannot happen again. Not revenge. What is the purpose of letting this tragic loss of life be repeated thousandfold in a war that may be unnecessary? If Hystaiga indeed is behind, there are many diplomatic and economic ways to prevent further aggression from them. To me, a single fighter, tragic of course, is a poor first strike in a war of aggression. An act of terror maybe, but not war. Show us evidence of mobilisation or other preparations. Let there be a commission before more life is lost.

The General Assembly will now reconvene.

In lieu of the current circumstances, it is regrettable that our country did not use the speaker's voice earlier. We have taken the proper steps, and it is unfortunate that the Valkyrian parliament vote was already in progress before the general assembly. It is, therefore, a shame that we have taken a turn to this path, a path that all have feared and with dire consequences. Now, more than ever is not the time to rest on our laurels, and further escalation to another great war may seem inevitable and yet still mitigate.

It is the duty of the World Forum to halt any further conflict that may fan an already raging fire that is in our region. As well as make plans to ensure that the stability of our region as a whole is preserved, steps must be taken in the coming days as I vote to prolong the general assembly and discuss the prevention of anything more than what we see.

With an extended time. We'd like to suggest talking about the Reizen war, the Ryccian affair, the FiHami situation and any contingency plans member states could take in these dire times.

With all due respect, honorable Gideon Kwah, FiHami's situation at the moment is with the Antarchi. They have joined the RIM and we fear that if the RIM were to win, they would turn to attack us next. We have trouble enough from the sheer number of the Antarchi, we would not be able to handle both Antarchi and RIM. Therefore, I am certain that the Reizen and Ryccia situation is much higher priority.
